Wills

Wills and Trusts Lawyers

Creating a valid Will is an essential part of the estate planning process, but all too many people mistake it for being the only step. At Doyle Law, we conduct an in-depth estate planning interview lasting about an hour and a half for every will and trust client as a matter of course.

As a part of this meeting, we discuss your family, companies, ownership of real estate and bank accounts, beneficiary designations, insurance coverage, trusts, Powers of Attorney and Representation Agreements. We give advice where needed on these points, and often times, this estate planning advice saves clients thousands of dollars in the long run. Only part of the meeting is devoted to talking about your Will and trusts.

Probate & Committeeship Services

The experienced probate lawyers from Doyle Law ease the burden on executors and estate administrators. The stresses of being an executor of a will can often be overwhelming. Our probate lawyers start with an initial consultation, where they educate executors about all the steps to take in estate administration.

Following this first meeting, a probate lawyer can help as much or as little as needed with the probate application or otherwise. Our lawyers guide executors through the complexities of probate until the estate is wound up. If you are an executor who needs some guidance, give us a call and our experienced probate lawyers can help.

Our committeeship lawyers can apply to court on your behalf for an appointment of committee. This is most often needed when a person becomes incapacitated and they have not already given a power of attorney over their finances to someone else. In this case, all bank accounts that are held only in their name are effectively frozen. If your loved one is in this situation, someone may have to be appointed as their committee of person and estate.

Corporate Services

A corporate lawyer from Doyle Law can help with all steps in the life of a company. We are company lawyers that can work with you to:

  • incorporate a new company for you;
  • organize the ownership structure of your company or society;
  • incorporate a new professional corporation for you;
  • dissolve or restore your company;
  • register a sole proprietorship or partnership for you;
  • file the annual records and maintain your company’s corporate records;
  • implement corporate reorganizations, rollovers, and estate freezes for you;
  • update your company’s records if there is a change of directors, officers, shareholders, or addresses;
  • create or update your company’s transparency register;
  • issue or transfer shares; and
  • prepare a shareholders’ agreement or partnership agreement.
